What are Security Questions?

Security questions are a security feature that adds an extra level of protection. You are free to answer any three questions of your choice. Answers that you give now will be recorded and kept absolutely confidential, safe and secure. Our security engine will continue to run in the background to safeguard you and might prompt you with a question if (and only if) it observes any deviation from your usual online banking usage behaviour. When prompted, you will be required to answer the question exactly the way you answer it now.

Please note that your answers will only be used to confirm your identity when our security engine observes any deviation from your usual behaviour.

What should I keep in mind while setting these Security Questions?

These are three questions that you set up with your personal answers which help us verify your identity. You should keep following points in mind while setting these questions:

  • Should be personal to you
  • Should be easy for you to remember but difficult for anyone else to guess
  • Should NOT be from your ‘Public’ profile on social media
  • Should NOT be disclosed to ANYONE
 

Note that an authorized bank employee will never ask these.

 

When will I be asked these questions?

Our security engine will continue to run in the background to provide you with enhanced security. Our system might prompt you with a question if (and only if) it observes any deviation from your usual online banking usage behaviour.

You may be prompted when you are completing certain transactions or logging into online banking. This prompt will be to verify your identity in online banking.

How does this improve security?

Security questions are a security feature that adds an extra level of protection. These questions and answers are personal to you and help us to verify your identity. Along with Security questions there is a range of security measures making IndusInd Internet Banking even safer, including a Fraud Detection System, encryption, firewalls and automatic time-outs.

  • In what city is your vacation home?
    Nainital (answer should NOT be known from your social media profile)
  • What was the name of your first pet?
    Rooster (answer should be personal to you)
  • What is the name of the first company you worked for?
    ABC Limited (Not Allowed as answer is easily available on social forums)
  • What is your nick name?
    AAA or PQR (Not Allowed as repetition of same character is not allowed)
