Portfolio Management Services (PMS),  is an investment portfolio which may comprise of stocks, fixed income, debt, cash, structured products and other individual securities, managed by a professional money manager and customised to meet specific investment objectives. An investor in PMS, own individual securities unlike a mutual fund investor, who owns units of the fund. 

Alternative Investment Funds (AIF)

Alternative Investment Fund or AIF means any fund established or incorporated in India which is a privately pooled investment vehicle which collects funds from sophisticated investors for investing it in accordance with a defined investment policy for the benefit of its investors. AIF provide flexibility and more opportunity to the fund manager to invest in instruments which may not be available to mutual funds and PMS
